Hernani Azevedo Junior , called Hernani (born March 27, 1994 in São Gonçalo do Sapucaí , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian football player . The right footer plays alternatively in the defensive or central midfield.

Career

Hernani started his career in the junior division of the Athletico Paranaense . From this was loaned to the Joinville EC in the Série B in the 2013 season in order to gain experience there. He played his first game as a professional on September 4, 2014. In the game against Ceará SC , he was substituted on after half-time.

Hernani returned to Atlético for the 2014 season. In the Campeonato Paranaense , he scored his first goal as a professional on February 23, 2014. In the 8th minute he scored with a penalty to lead the Arapongas EC 1-0 (it was 3-0). Hernani made his debut in the top Brazilian division on September 10, 2014. In the away game against Gremio Porto Alegre , he came in the 90th minute for Marcos Guilherme . Hernani scored his first goal in the league the following season . On June 14, 2015, he scored in the 52nd minute against Grêmio Porto Alegre to make it 1: 1 (1: 2). In the same year the player made his debut at international club level. In the 2015 Copa Sudamericana , Atlético faced Brasília FC on September 24, 2015 . Hernani was in the starting XI.

On December 16, 2016, it was announced that Zenit St. Petersburg had signed Hernani for five years. Hernani played his first game in the Russian top division in the 2016/17 season on March 4, 2017 against PFK CSKA Moscow . In the game he was substituted on in the 81st minute for Maurício . Seven more league appearances followed during the season. Hernani also made his debut at the European club level at Zenit. On February 16, 2017, they played away against RSC Anderlecht in the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League . In the game, Hernani was in the starting line-up and played through to the end. In the 2017/18 season , Hernani initially played a game for Zenit, but was then loaned to AS Saint-Étienne in France . In the Ligue 1 Hernani stepped up to August 19, 2017th In the game against SC Amiens , he came on in the 81st minute for Loïs Diony . In the season Hernani scored on eight games against ES Troyes AC his first league goal. In the 53rd minute he met after a pass from Rémy Cabella to the interim 1: 1 (2: 1 for Troyes).
