action

It's 1983, ATMs have only just been introduced, people still carry PINs in their wallets, and it's deep winter in Winnipeg, Canada. The dullness of life and the desire for the daily dose makes a handful of junkies wonder how they can get as much coal as possible in the shortest possible time. Dick, Bug, Donnie and Billy - four shabby and slightly poorly poored petty criminals forge the oldest of all plans to quickly rob a bank. Only one thing stands in the way of escaping reality: you yourself. The perfect plan, which provides for emptying one of the new ATMs, seems to be developing in a different direction.

reception

"Black-humorous (junkie) comedy about the clash of traditional criminal methods and modernity, staged and played with a lot of spirits."

Julian Hanich from Tagesspiegel speaks in a short review of an “amusing, if not overly original, crook comedy”, into which “a good portion of Quentin Tarantino” and “a little Guy Ritchie humor” have been incorporated. Hanich mentions Stephen Eric McIntyre as the highlight of the film in the role of Bug, who stands out as a “shaggy, completely worn out creature”.

Location

The film was shot in various locations in Winnipeg , Manitoba , Canada.
