geography
The community is located at the mouth of the River Parrett in the Bristol Channel , which forms its own small estuary here at the southern end of the Severn estuary . It is located about 10 km north of the district capital Bridgwater , about 40 km southeast of Cardiff on the other side of the canal and about 45 km southwest of Bristol .
