Hilde Ferber
Hildegard Marianne Antonie Ferber (born October 13, 1901 in Wetzlar , † July 21, 1967 in Rotenburg an der Fulda ) was a German glass painter , art teacher and religious educator .
Life
Hilde Ferber was born in 1901 as the first child of the Wetzlar master painter Christian Ferber and his wife. Ferber visited the Wetzlar Lyceum, to which she returned once more during her legal clerkship . On October 1, 1925, Ferber was employed as a senior teacher for art education at the Auguste Viktoria School in Bielefeld .
The 1934 meeting with Wilhelm Stählin and the Berneuchen movement to which she belonged from then on was decisive for her artistic work . Ferber completed his training as a religious educator and taught from October 1, 1937 at the higher boys and girls school in Treysa . Hilde Ferber returned to Bielefeld as a student teacher in 1954 and worked at the Ceciliengymnasium Bielefeld until her retirement in 1962 .
She designed her glass windows in representational and abstract form. Since the mid-1950s, she mainly worked in the grisaille technique, but also dealt with concrete glass . In addition, Hilde Ferber created tempera pictures , watercolors, landscapes and portraits.
Hilde Ferber was buried in the Imshausen cemetery. In the core city of Wetzlar, a street today bears the name Hildegard-Ferber-Straße .
