history

Hioki was formed on May 1, 2005 from the union of the communities Fukiage ( 吹上町 , -chō ), Higashiichiki ( 東市来町 , -chō ), Hiyoshi ( 日吉町 , -chō ) and Ijūin ( 伊集院町 , -chō ) of the Hioki district founded.
