history

Hohentanne was mentioned in 1343 as "Hotanne". From 1551, the manorial rule over the place was verifiably with the manor Bieberstein . Until 1836 Hohentanne belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon District Office of Meißen . The place was in the extreme southwest of the office, the Freiberger Mulde formed the border to the office Nossen and the district office Freiberg . From 1836 Hohentanne was briefly part of the Freiberg district office.

In 1856 Hohentanne was incorporated into the Nossen court office and in 1875 the Meißen administration . In 1939 the place was reclassified to the Freiberg district .

Through the second district reform in the GDR , Hohentanne came to the Freiberg district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Freiberg district of Saxony from 1990 . On January 1, 1994, Hohentanne was incorporated into Großschirma. Since 2008 the place belongs to the district of central Saxony.

traffic

The federal highway 101 leads through the neighboring town of Großvoigtsberg to the west , on which the federal highway 4 , Nossen and Meißen to the north and Freiberg to the south can be reached. This can be reached via a bridge over the Freiberger Mulde.

At Großvoigtsberg station there was also a connection to the Zellwaldbahn , a section of the Nossen – Moldau railway line that is now without passenger traffic.
