Hohlweiler is a district of the town of Scheinfeld in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Central Franconia .

location

The village is about 1.5 km south of Scheinfeld on State Road 2421 . A little further to the east flows the Scheine , which joins the Bibart to the Laimbach one kilometer further south .

history

Hohlweiler was first mentioned in 1303 as "Horweyler" or "Horwiler". According to an old tradition, the place name should come from Hor (swampy ground). In 1457 the place became partly, later completely Schwarzenberg .

The former district of the municipality of Grappertshofen was incorporated into Scheinfeld on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
