Oberlaimbach is a district of the town of Scheinfeld in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Central Franconia .

history

The Megingaudshausen monastery was founded in 816 near Oberlaimbach or Unterlaimbach, am Laimbach . It existed until around 877 and was moved to Münsterschwarzach am Main that year. Its first abbot was Teutgarius . Laimbach was first mentioned in a document in 912 when King Conrad I handed over goods to Bishop Dracholf. It was not until 1357 that another castle was built in Laimbach to distinguish between Oberlaimbach and Unterlaimbach. The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Peter and Paul was built in the 15th century. With his rule, the Counts of Castell , Oberlaimbach probably only became Protestant in 1546 as part of the Reformation . In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria since the was Gemeindeedikt 1818 independent municipality Oberlaimbach incorporated in 1972 to Scheinfeld.
