Grappertshofen is a district of the town of Scheinfeld in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Central Franconia .

location

The village is just under 1.5 km northwest of Scheinfeld, directly west of State Road 2421 . A little further to the east flows the Scheine , a source river of the Laimbach .

history

Grappertshofen was first mentioned in a Casteller fief book from 1376 as "Grozbrechtshofen". At that time it was a fiefdom of the Counts of Castell. In the 15th century, the Schwarzenbergs gradually acquired the Grapperthoffen property. In 1790 the place consisted of twelve farms and an inn, which hardly changed until 1970. Since then, several residential areas have come to the north of the old town. The once rural character of the place changed towards a suburb of Scheinfeld. In 1825 a small chapel was built in the village.

In 1806 the area became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria . In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Grappertshofen , which had been independent since the municipal edict of 1818, with its districts of Hohlweiler and Hohlweilermühle was incorporated into Scheinfeld in 1972.

Architectural monuments

The Catholic chapel and a wayside shrine are registered in the place as architectural monuments .
