history
The first known documentary mention of Hohnhausen comes from the year 1148 in connection with an exchange of goods between the Ebrach monastery and the Würzburg cathedral chapter, but it was probably already around the year 800.
The place belonging to the evangelical parish Burgpreppach was owned by the brothers Eitel Heinrich Fuchs von Bimbach zu Burgbreitbach and Ludwig Wilhelm Fuchs von Bimbach zu Gleisenau . However, they sold the place to the Truchseß von Wetzhausen family , probably due to debts caused by the Thirty Years' War . This caused a change of place from the parish Burgpreppach to the branch church Bramberg of the Jesserndorfer parish in 1671. Since 1820 the place belongs again to the parish Burgpreppach.
On May 1, 1978, Hohnhausen became part of Burgpreppach as part of the municipal reform.
