The Hohwacht near Reisiswil is 780  m above sea level. M. the highest point in eastern Oberaargau in Switzerland .

Until 1798 the Hohwacht on the Ghürn was one of the important high-altitude fire signal stations; These high watch alarms could be triggered day and night with fire signals throughout the canton within 3 to 4 hours. The system was last used in 1798 when the French army attacked Bern.

Today there is a 20 m high concrete observation tower on the summit. The first 70 steps lead to the first platform. Then a spiral staircase with 21 steps leads to the next platform. Finally, a ladder with 14 steps leads to the top viewing platform at a height of 20 meters. It offers a panoramic view of the Mittelland, the Aare Valley , from the Jura to the Alps . The panorama board on the observation tower names 150 peaks.

From 1886 to 1911 there was a wooden tower in the same place

The Hohwacht is forested and accessible through several hiking trails.
