The Hollergraben is a 1.6 km long right and northwest tributary of the Nidda .

The Hollergraben rises at a height of about 157  m above sea level. NHN north of the Ranstadter district of Dauernheim .

It flows in an easterly direction through farmland along the northeastern edge of the village, then turns to the south-southeast, flows around the mountain Altenburg ( 199  m above sea level ) and finally flows east of Dauernheim at an altitude of about 157  m above sea level. NHN from the right into the Nidda .

Its 1.6 km long run ends about 31 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 19 ‰.

Catchment area

The catchment area of ​​the Hollergraben lies in the Lower Vogelsberg and is drained to the North Sea via the Nidda, the Main and the Rhine .

The highest point is the 223.9  m high Faulenberg .

Most of the catchment area is dominated by agriculture. In the north of the catchment area are the FFH areas Am Faulenberg near Dauernheim and basalt lean grassland on the edge of the Wetterau dry island and a bird sanctuary in the estuary .
