Holpe is a district of Morsbach in the Oberbergisches Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia . The place is located in the southernmost tip of the Oberbergisches Kreis, near the state border with Rhineland-Palatinate (neighboring municipality of Wissen ). In Holpe, the roads from Morsbach to Windeck and from Waldbröl nach Wissen meet. The cities of Gummersbach , Siegen and Cologne are easy to reach.

history

In 1391 the place was mentioned for the first time in the documents and files of the Merten monastery as Hoilpe .

The Catholic and Protestant churches shape the town, which has around 400 inhabitants.

Holpe is also the primary school location for the smaller towns in the area. The infrastructure of the village also includes a kindergarten, gymnasium and volunteer fire department . A carpenter's shop, a hairdresser and a restaurant are located in the village.

In the competition Our village has a future , Holpe won a bronze medal at state level in 2000.
