Oberasbach is a district of Morsbach in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia within the administrative district of Cologne .
Location and description
Oberasbach is located in a rural, wooded area at the southernmost tip of the Oberbergisches Kreis. The cities of Gummersbach (38 km), Siegen (35 km) and Cologne (75 km) can be reached in a few minutes by car.
Neighboring districts are Erdingen in the north, Springe in the east, Lichtenberg in the south, Überasbach in the southwest and Niederasbach in the west.

First mention
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1465 , namely “Bruen and Elße van Asbach, Mettelen children, are among the inhabitants who Berg demanded to be their own people.” This also applies to Nieder- and Überasbach.
