geography

course

The Holzbach rises in at a height of 395  m above sea level. NHN in a field on the western edge of the local community of the same name .

The stream flows in a west-northwest direction in the corridor In der Mäwies, first through arable land and then through a wet fallow along the southern outskirts of the village. At the corridor Auf der Lehmkaul , south-east of a weekend house area, it is strengthened on its left by the Rehlsbach coming from the south .

The Holzbach then runs in the corridor in the Holzbach on the eastern edge of a mixed forest north-northwest through fields and meadows. To the northeast of a small mixed oak and beech forest , it turns more and more to the northwest and then moves south of the Heiligerberg through the corridors An den Aspen and Oberste Holzbach . West of the hallway Im Gebück it turns to the west-southwest, then flows through the hallway In der Holzbach and then reaches the outskirts of the residential community of Ohlweiler .

It passes the village, crosses under the K 18 and finally flows at 317  m into the Simmerbach near tributary coming from the northeast .

The 2.98 km long course of the Holzbach ends about 78 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 26 ‰.
