Honoré-Nicolas-Marie Duveyrier
Honoré-Nicolas-Marie Duveyrier (born December 6, 1753 in Pignans , today: Département Var , France ; † May 25, 1839 in Maffliers , today: Département Val-d'Oise , France) was a French lawyer , politician and author of Dramas.
Life
Duveyrier began his legal practice in Paris after completing his military training at the military school in Perpignan . He became a well-known lawyer and was admitted to the Parlement in 1779 as a lawyer.
During the French Revolution , Duveyrier was taken over by Louis XVI. three days before his escape to Varennes , sent with a message to Condé . However, he was captured by Austrian troops. On his return he was, together with Robespierre , one of the five Commissaires Délégues of August 11, 1792, who were sent by the Section des Piques to the General Council of the Commune de Paris . Duveyrier was later arrested after being defamed by Robespierre.
After the fall of Robespierre on July 27, 1794, the 9th Thermidor of the year II, Duveyrier was liberated and used abroad as a commissioner for the supply of the French armies. In 1796 he resumes his practice in Paris. After that he was the chief financial officer in Rome , where he made a great fortune.
Until 1804, Duveyrier was a member of the Tribunate (Tribun) in the section for legislation. In 1808 he became President of the Court of Appeal in Montpellier . His fortune was large enough to earn him the title of Baron de l'Empire in 1810 .
Duveyrier is buried in the Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
