Hornsgrün is a hamlet with an estate and the associated buildings in the municipality of Rosenthal am Rennsteig in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Hornsgrün can be reached via the provincial road 1095 from Bad Lobenstein via Neundorf . The road continues to Rodacherbrunn , about five kilometers away. The road is called the Rennsteig here , but is not part of the hiking trail of the same name . The location of the settlement is southwest of Bad Lobenstein and Neundorf in the south-east Thuringian slate mountains . The Herrenteich reservoir is located in the east of the village .

history

The first documentary mention of the few houses on the edge of the forest took place in 1750. Hornsgrün belonged to the Principality of Reuss younger line .
