Horseshoe Beach is a city in Dixie County in the US state of Florida with 169 inhabitants (as of 2010).

The city is located on the Gulf Coast of Florida and about 30 km southwest of Cross City and about 180 km southeast of Tallahassee .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 169 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 378 households. The population density was 338 inh. / Km². 100% of the population described themselves as white . 1.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 47.7% of all households lived in 9.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 62.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.97 people and the average family size was 2.54 people.

12.4% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 8.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 47.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 59 years. 49.1% of the population were male and 50.9% were female.

The median annual income was $ 41,719, with 27.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
