Horst Hoheisel

Horst Hoheisel (born December 6, 1944 in Posen ) is a German visual artist.

Life

Hoheisel studied forest sciences in Munich and Göttingen as well as art at the Munich Art Academy and the Kassel Art Academy . The artist lived for some time in a Yanomami indigenous settlement in the Orinoco Amazon region and did his doctorate on the rainforest ecosystem in Venezuela . Hoheisel lives and works in Kassel. He was a participant in documenta 13 in 2012 .

Artistic work

Together with the architect Andreas Knitz, Horst Hoheisel is known for his artistic work, so-called negative monuments or counter monuments. These works of remembrance of National Socialism see themselves as "signs of remembrance in public space". Exhibition locations are u. a .:
