Hoverberg is a place ( Tatort ) in the municipality of Berg in Jämtlands län in Sweden . The place is about 8 kilometers north of the main town of the municipality Berg, Svenstavik .
The place is named after the landmark that can be seen from afar , the Hoverberget mountain. It is divided into the three small districts Bergsbyn, Eltnäset and Vattviken. The Länsväg 321 runs through Hoverberg. Another Länsväg Z 574 runs around the Hoverberget and opens up further hamlets .
The two steamships S / S Thomée and S / S Östersund regularly called at Hoverberg from 1874 onwards from Östersund . With the construction of the inland railway , Svenstavik developed more and more into a center and Hoverberg lost its importance. Hoverberg did not have a train station, the next station, Skanderåsen, is on the other side of Storsjön and is no longer regularly served today.
The church, which is also the seat of Berg's parish, still testifies to its former importance. As early as 1965, Hoverberg lost its status as a crime scene. Only in 2015 will more than 200 residents be reported again.
