Svenstavik is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Jämtlands län and the historical province of Jämtland .
It is located about 65 km south of Östersund on the southern tip of Lake Storsjön and is the capital of the municipality of Berg . The European route 45 ( Inlandsvägen ) and the Inlandsbahn run through Svenstavik . The Hoverberg grotto is located nearby .
A small, separate district about 1.5 km to the northwest was designated by Statistiska centralbyrån as an independent småort in 2015 .
