How the West Was Won -

How the West Was Won is a live album by the hard and blues rock band Led Zeppelin . It was released in 2003 by Atlantic Records . It contains live recordings of Led Zeppelin concerts on June 25, 1972 at the LA Forum and June 27, 1972 at the Long Beach Arena .

In 2003 the songs were officially launched after years of illegally only available as bootlegs . The album made it to number one on the Billboard 200 chart , although the band has ceased to exist in 1980, with more than 154,000 copies sold .

The album consists of three CDs that contain all material from both concerts.

LA Drone on CD 1 is only 14 seconds long and contains only fan calls. Dazed and Confused on CD 2 and Whole Lotta Love on CD 3 are medleys of three and five songs respectively.
