A photo of the mirror image houses at St. Marks Place 96 and 98 in New York's East Village was the basis for the design of the record cover .

Physical Graffiti is the sixth music album and the first double album by the British rock band Led Zeppelin . It consists of songs recorded and produced between 1970 and 1974 in Headley Grange , Stargroves , London and New York City . The album was released on February 24, 1975 on the band's own label Swan Song Records .

The work, sometimes viewed as the last significant recording by Led Zeppelin, is considered to be a high point of their output. With " Kashmir " it contains one of the most famous songs of the band. The music magazine Rolling Stone ranks it at number 73 on the list of the 500 best albums of all time . and up to January 2006 it had been awarded “ platinum ” 16 times by the RIAA .

Remarks

  1. There have been recordings by other performers of the title ( Blind Willie Johnson , Bob Dylan, etc.), which is probably a traditional . Nevertheless, the musicians from Led Zeppelin are identified as the originators of the song on the album credits.
