The Roman Catholic branch church Maria Heimsuchung , also called Hubkapelle , is located in the urban area of Penzberg in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim-Schongau, just under 200 meters from the Hubersee . The listed church belongs as part of the parish Christkönig Penzberg to the deanery Benediktbeuern in the diocese of Augsburg .

history

The church was built in 1630 as a court chapel in the immediate vicinity of Hub's farm , and was consecrated the following year by Auxiliary Bishop Sebastian Müller . The first redesign took place in 1696, another renovation and refinement about ten years later, financed by a son of the Huber farmer, who was a merchant and councilor in Augsburg . He had the tower built and bells poured, the largest bearing the inscription “Ich Kling und Ruef zu Betten an / Hoch Heilig Trei Eins as far as I can. Christoph Taler poured me in Munich 1709 ”. Three altars were built in: the first, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary , bears an altarpiece of Blessed Clare. The second altar was dedicated to all the saints , the third to the Most Holy Trinity . During the First World War , the bells had to be delivered .

The hub belonged to the parish of St. Peter and Paul Antdorf until it was re-parish in 1935 into the parish of Penzberg, founded in 1899. In 1958 the neighboring farm was demolished without replacement.

Every year there is a Georgiritt to the lift chapel.
