Hudson de Souza ( Hudson Santos de Souza; born February 25, 1977 in Brasília ) is a former Brazilian middle-distance , long-distance and obstacle runner .

In 1998 he won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships over 1500 m . The following year, he won at the South American Championships in Athletics 1999 in Bogota about 800 meters and pulled at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg m over 1500 bronze.

In 2000 he won the Ibero-American Championships over 800 m and 1500 m and reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Sydney over 1500 m.

In 2001 he managed a double victory over 800 m and 1500 m at the South American Championships in Manaus . At the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton , he reached the semi-finals over 1500 m.

In 2002 he finished 50th on the short distance at the Cross Country World Championships in Dublin . At the Ibero-American Championships he defended both titles, and at the Athletics World Cup in Madrid he was eighth. The following year he triumphed at the Pan American Games in 2003 in Santo Domingo over 1500 m and 5000 m and was eliminated again in the semi-finals over 1500 m at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .

In 2004 he won the Ibero-American Championships over 3000 m and won silver over 1500 m. At the Olympic Games in Athens he reached the semifinals over 1500 m.

In 2005 he failed at the World Championships in Helsinki over 1500 m in the first round. In 2006 he finished 79th at the World Cross Country Championships in Fukuoka on the short distance. At the Ibero-American Championships he defended his title over 3000 m, and at the South American Championships in Tunja he won over 1500 m and took silver over 800 m.

In 2007 he defended his title over 1500 m at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , but did not get past the heat again at the World Cup in Osaka . Also at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he overtook him over 1500 m in the preliminary round.

In 2009 he won silver over 1500 m at the South American Championships in Lima and bronze at the Jogos da Lusofonia in Lisbon . In 2011 he won the South American Championships in Buenos Aires over 3000 m obstacle and won bronze over 1500 m. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara , silver followed over the 3000 m obstacle.
