Hunbert

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hunbert († March 9, 842 ) was bishop in Würzburg from 832 to 842 .

Hunbert came from the Würzburg cathedral clergy. He was Wolfgar's successor , appeared at some imperial assemblies in the late period of the government of Ludwig the Pious , but seems to have been of a rather apolitical nature. He campaigned for the continuous expansion of the cathedral library and often stayed in the border regions of the diocese to strengthen his influence here.
