Hurlyburly is an American feature film ( drama ) directed by Anthony Drazan in 1998. The film is set in Los Angeles and is the cinematic adaptation of a drama staged on Broadway by David Rabe , who also wrote the screenplay for the film.

action

Friends Eddie and Mickey live together in a bungalow in Los Angeles . Phil is the third member of a grown single-male friendship and often hangs out there. Aside from their work in the film industry , they are only interested in their pleasures: cocaine , imposing their self-centered outlook on life on women and others. Because of their drug use , the friendship seems to run smoothly for a long time, but women in particular gradually cause unrest in their relationships and their not-so-happy world. The character of everyone becomes more and more apparent under the influence of drugs. Eventually a suicide occurs .

background

The title of the film is a reference to the following dialogue from Shakespeare's Macbeth : First Witch: "When shall we three meet again / In thunder, lightning, or in rain?" - Second witch: "When the hurlyburly's done, / When the battle's lost and won."
