Hypo committee of inquiry
The committee of inquiry to investigate political responsibility for the events surrounding the Hypo Group Alpe-Adria was set up by the Austrian National Council on February 25, 2015. It was the 22nd investigative committee of the National Council in the Second Republic and the first to be set up by the opposition, having only been able to do so since 2015. The committee began its work on February 26, 2015. It ended in October 2016.

After seven months, 39 committee days and 340 hours of meetings, the first thematic block was concluded.
Members
The presidents of the National Council took the chair, the first chairman was Doris Bures . Walter Pilgermair took over the newly created function of trial judge, Walter Hellmich is the deputy trial judge. Bruno Binder acted as procedural attorney , Klaus Hoffmann was his deputy. Faction leaders were Kai Jan Krainer (SPÖ), Gabriele Tamandl (ÖVP), Gernot Darmann (FPÖ, October 2015 to June 2016), Werner Kogler (Greens), Robert Lugar (Team Stronach) and Rainer Hable (NEOS).
