Iñigo Cuesta Lopez de Castro (born June 3, 1969 in Villarcayo , Burgos ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

In 1994 Cuesta became a professional with the Euskadi-Petronor cycling team . He celebrated his greatest success in 1998 with the overall victory of the Tour of the Basque Country . He achieved further success with stage victories in the Tour of Catalonia and the Dauphiné Libéré . In 2010 he started his 17th Vuelta a España with starting number 1 , which he only had to break off prematurely three times. In 2001 he achieved his best result with 13th place overall. Since 1994 he has started his home tour every year, making him the record participant in this Grand Tour .

His last season as a professional cyclist was with the Spanish Professional Continental Team Caja Rural . His last bike race was the Burgos Tour in August 2011 .
