Ičići is a small fishing village in the Kvarner Bay on the Opatija Riviera in Croatia . It has been known as a climatic health resort since 1844 due to winter and summer tourism . You can get to Ičići by car, bus or train to Rijeka and Matulji , by plane via Rijeka Airport (on the island of Krk ) or with your own yacht to the ACI marina.
Summers can get very warm in Ičići, but the 1396 meter high Učka Mountains and their rich hardwood and Mediterranean softwood provide shade. The winters are mild and without snow, frost or ice.
The annual “Marunada” with its chestnut specialties takes place in autumn , as well as the winter masked parades and the fishing and tennis tournaments .
In addition to many small, quiet beaches, Ičići also has a large beach that is approx. 500 meters long and lined with cafes , beach bars and stalls. For sporting activities, there is a volleyball court right on the beach and the option of renting a jet ski , water skiing or renting a pedal boat . For lovers of walks, the approximately 12 km long Lungomare of Abbazia , the promenade that connects Opatija with Lovran , is suitable . There is also the possibility of climbing and visiting the Učka.
The modern ACI marina with 300 berths and 30 drying places , crane, service, restaurant, café bar and market ( supermarket ) offers boaters complete services. The ACI Marina Ičići (Opatija) has been one of the “Blue Flag” marinas since 1999, which is characterized by very clean and modern facilities and high standards of service. The Münz villa towers over the marina .
The cultural summer in Opatija , Lovran , Kastav and Rijeka offers classical and light music concerts , spectacles, operas , museums, exhibitions and open-air cinema screenings . There is also the possibility of one-day excursions to the islands of the Kvarner Bay, to Istria and to the national parks .
