ICC Intercontinental Cup 2011-2013
The ICC Intercontinental Cup 2011–13 was the sixth edition of the ICC Intercontinental Cup , the international first-class cricket competition for national teams that do not have test match status . The two-pronged tournament mode with weaker teams in the ICC Intercontinental Shield has been discontinued.
mode
The games took place between June 2011 and October 2013. The teams from Namibia and the United Arab Emirates who had recommended themselves through their performance in the World Cricket League Division 2 have returned. The team from Zimbabwe , which had participated in the ICC Intercontinental Cup 2009-2010 as a full member of the ICC, did not participate in this tournament. An innovation was considered to host evening games, with a pink ball being played in the dark. This served as a test of the pink ball so that it could also be used in test matches. For the first time, two One-Day International were held parallel to the games over four days . According to a decision by the ICC, these served as qualifications for the Cricket World Cup 2015 .
