IC 2282 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 205 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 501 , IC 2267 , IC 2268 , IC 2271 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on February 13, 1901 .
