IC 2268 is a compact dwarf galaxy of Hubble type C in the constellation Cancer on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 87 million light years from the Milky Way and about 5,000 light years across.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 501 , IC 2254 , IC 2267 , IC 2282 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 11, 1896 .
