IC 2690 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in Leo on the ecliptic . It is about 1.5 billion light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter . Together with IC 2689, it forms an optical duo in the sky .
The galaxies NGC 3623 , IC 2684 , IC 2694 , IC 2708 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was on March 27, 1906 by Max Wolf .
