IC 3871 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is estimated to be 867 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter .

The object was discovered by Max Wolf on January 27, 1904 .
