IC 3862 = Arp 265 is an irregular galaxy of the Hubble type Sd in the constellation Hounds. It is an estimated 189 million light years from the Milky Way . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of galaxies with irregular clusters .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 21, 1903 .
