Igelshieb is a district of Neuhaus am Rennweg in the district of Sonneberg in Thuringia .

Igelshieb is located on Landesstraße 1145 , southwest of the city center, in the direction of Lauscha . Mountain meadows or forest on the slopes accompany the constantly ascending or descending winding road to the district. The place has a regional train stop on the Probstzella – Neuhaus am Rennweg line . It is served every hour by the STB 41 Sonneberg – Neuhaus line, but is located away from the town center and is operated as a demand stop.
history
Hedgehog was first mentioned in 1624. The city goes from 1732. The place emerged from a scattered charcoal burner settlement that is said to have developed after a forest fire.
