Ignaz Neubauer

Ignaz Neubauer (often also Ignatius Neubauer ; * February 12, 1726 in Bamberg , † 1795 in Oellingen , Gelchsheim parish ) was a Roman Catholic theologian , Jesuit priest and university professor .

Life

Neubauer was enrolled at the Bamberg Academy in 1740 . On July 13, 1745, he had completed his studies in philosophy and entered the Jesuit order. From 1748 to 1756 he taught Humaniora at the Jesuit grammar school in Würzburg . In 1757/1758 he worked in Ettlingen before teaching philosophy at the institution in Bamberg until 1761 , again in Würzburg until 1763 and in 1763 at the college in Heidelberg .

In 1763 Neubauer received a chair for dogmatics, morals and exegesis at the University of Würzburg , which he lost ten years later, in 1773, with the abolition of the Jesuit order . During his time as a professor, in 1765, he was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD . In Würzburg he was one of the co-authors of the Theologia Wirceburgensis . After he was released from his position as a professor, he came to Oellingen as a pastor. He stayed there until his death.
