Igor Karačić (born November 2, 1988 in Mostar , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player who is mostly used on the left back area.

The 1.92 m tall and 94 kg heavy right-handed player played for RK Metković and the Bosnian club RK Bosna Sarajevo until 2012 , with which he became Bosnian champion in 2011. In the EHF Champions League he was one of the top scorers in 2010/11 with 62 goals, although he was eliminated in the round of 16. In 2011/12 he reached the group stage. From February 2012 he ran for the Macedonian record champions RK Vardar Skopje . In his first full season in the Super League , he immediately won the championship. In the EHF Europe Cup 2012/13 he was in the third round. His contract was extended by three years to 2017 in February 2014. In the premier class 2013/14 he reached the quarter-finals after surprisingly winning the second leg with Vardar after a 28:28 at home at defending champion HSV Hamburg with 30:29. There he was subject to SG Flensburg-Handewitt due to the away goal rule . In 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 he won the cup, in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 the championship, in 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019 the SEHA league and in 2017 and 2019 the EHF Champions League. In summer 2019 he moved to the Polish first division club KS Kielce . With Kielce he won the Polish championship in 2020.

For the Croatian national team , Igor Karačić has played 76 international matches so far , in which he scored 179 goals. He completed this at the Mediterranean Games in 2013, where he won silver with Croatia. He was in the provisional squad for the 2014 European Championship , but was not called into the final squad. He also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

His older brother Ivan (* 1985) is also a national handball player, but for Bosnia and Herzegovina . His younger brother Goran plays football for HŠK Zrinjski Mostar .
