The Ilja Muromez ( Russian Илья Муромец ) is a river cruise ship that was built in 1958 in the GDR at VEB Mathias-Thesen-Werft Wismar in Wismar as a series II 588 ship and belongs to the Rodina class (project 588). The German name is BiFa type A (inland passenger ship type A). It bears the name of a hero from the Kiev Round Table, the most famous bogatyr Ilya Muromets .

The ship with three passenger decks was built in 1958 under construction number 120 for the Soviet Union . It belongs to a prepared 1954-1961 series of vessels 49 of the type Rodina which easily in two mutually different series of batch ran, the first series of eleven vessels Tschkalow class and from 1957, the second series of vessels 38 Cosmonaut Gagarin class.
The ship has a diesel-electric drive with three main engines of the type R 6 DV 48 from the engine manufacturer VEB Schwermaschinenbau "Karl Liebknecht" (SKL). In 2004/2005 the ship was completely modernized. In 2008 the Ilya Muromets made a 23-day cruise Moscow - Rostov-on-Don , Astrakhan - Moscow as the first in history . It is operated by the company OOO Infoflot , on the routes Moscow - Valaam - Saint Petersburg , Moscow - Tver - Uglich - Moscow and Moscow - Kalyazin - Yaroslavl - Nizhny Novgorod - Kazan - Cheboksary - Kostroma - Myshkin - Moscow.
Furnishing
All cabins are equipped with a toilet, shower and sink, refrigerator, television set with satellite TV reception and central air conditioning. There are two restaurants for 70 people each and two bars on the ship. After the renovation in 2004/2005, the number of passenger seats was significantly reduced.
