Imke David 1997

Imke David gives concerts internationally as a viol player and has participated in radio and CD recordings. In 1996 several compositions for solo viol were written for her by the composer Art Clay and premiered by her. With the project “Broken Words”, a text and music performance with Urs Jaeggi (texts), Art Clay ( live electronics ) and Imke David (Air-Bow), modern ways were also shown for the viol.

As one of the first instrumentalists in her field, she researched the Italian early baroque continuo instrument Lira da Gamba and developed the chordal style of playing on the 13-string instrument .
