In Bed with Madonna (OT: Madonna: Truth or Dare , German alternative title: Im Bett mit Madonna ) is a documentary by Madonna that was shot during her Blond Ambition World Tour (April to August 1990). The film was produced by Miramax , Propaganda Films and Boy Toys and distributed in America by Lionsgate . Outside America, Metro-Goldwyn Mayer and Dino de Laurentiis Communications were responsible for distribution. The film grossed $ 29 million. Directed by Alek Keshishian and Mark Aldo Miceli. At the Cannes Film Festival 1991 In Bed with Madonna performed out of competition.

The film accompanies Madonna and her team on the Blond Ambition World Tour around the world. The intro of the film shows Madonna talking about the tour and herself. Her team and fans are also shown. A concert will be presented in April 1990 during heavy rains in Japan . The dancers in the show experience situations like a blizzard and have to deal with cold and wet conditions.
On the return flight to America, Madonna realizes that she is like a mother to her team. She meets some family members of the dancers. Above all, it shows how Oliver sees his father again. There are some sound issues during a concert in Los Angeles . Her manager Freddy DeMann is therefore yelled at by her. In the background you can see her boyfriend at the time, Warren Beatty , who can only smile about the whole situation.
At a small backstage party, other stars from Dick Tracy can be seen, such as Al Pacino , Mandy Patinkin and Olivia Newton-John . Even Kevin Costner is taken by a little joke by Madonna on her arm. Madonna performed in Toronto on May 29, 1990 and was arrested for her lewd behavior in public. Despite a previous warning, she simulated masturbation. The next day she is free again.

The idea for the film came from Madonna herself when she met Alek Keshishian. He had their tour accompanied by cameras and arranged the scenes so that a documentary was shot with black and white scenes during their everyday life and color scenes during their stage appearances.
The film was shot by Alek Keshishian and Mark Aldo Miceli partly in color and partly in black and white. Madonna documents her tour using voice-over synchronization .
