Ingo Stawitz (born August 18, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a right-wing extremist German politician in various parties. Initially active in the DVU , he was elected to the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein in 1992, to which he was a member until 1996. In 1993 he moved to the DLVH and, after leaving the state parliament, to the NPD , to which he has been a member with a four-year break. Since June 2012 he has been its state chairman .

Political development

Stawitz is married, has three children and lives with his family in Uetersen . Until 1992 he worked as a gravure color retoucher at Gruner + Jahr in Itzehoe .

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein on April 5, 1992 , Stawitz was the top candidate of the right-wing extremist DVU , which received 6.3% of the vote. From May 5, 1992 to 1993 he was chairman of the DVU parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . In 1993, the DVU federal chairman Gerhard Frey accused him of serious financial misconduct. In addition, his speeches brought the DVU close to neo-Nazism and racism . His expulsion from the DVU was initiated. Thereupon Stawitz left the DVU.

He joined the DLVH and remained with it until April 23, 1996 a member of the state parliament. In the following state election in 1996 , the DLVH, with Stawitz as the top candidate, received only 0.2 percent of the vote. When the DLVH gave up its party status at the end of 1996, Stawitz joined the NPD and became chairman of the NPD regional association Schleswig-Holstein.

In the 1990s he was one of the first to propagate and practice cooperation with militant neo-Nazi comradeships as an alliance for Schleswig-Holstein . In 2000 he was voted out of office as state chairman, left the NPD and became spokesman for the legal alliance for Lübeck . In 2004 he rejoined the NPD and was given number 2 on the list for the 2005 state election .

Stawitz has been chairman of the NPD West Coast District Association for several years. In the state elections on September 27, 2009 in Schleswig-Holstein, he ran for second place on the NPD state list, in the federal election on place 4. In June 2012, he was elected as the successor to Jens Lütke as chairman of the NPD state association Schleswig-Holstein.

Stawitz has been a board member of the Alliance for Peace and Freedom since December 17, 2016 .

Incidents during the 2005 election campaign

On January 6, 2005, the television magazine Panorama showed acts of violence by Stawitz and other NPD members against left-wing counter-demonstrators who had previously thrown bottles and stones at the NPD venue.

After Stawitz had admitted the act, the Itzehoe regional court sentenced him and two co-defendants to a fine of 90 daily rates on March 22, 2007 , because they had exceeded the right to self-defense and self-help in an exceptional situation .

In order to reach more young voters, the NPD decided in 2005 to show itself more as a "party of ideology" for the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein. Accordingly, in an interview with the Berliner Zeitung , Stawitz denied Germany's guilt for World War II and the Holocaust . He knows “piles of corpses only from Dresden ”. Many people died in Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, but mainly from epidemics. The Allies presented images of the dead in films after the end of the war as those of Auschwitz. Homosexuality is "unchristian and amoral."
