The Alliance for Peace and Freedom ( English Alliance For Peace And Freedom , APF) is a right-wing political party at European level . It was founded on September 14, 2014.

The main member parties were already involved in the European National Front , which was founded in 2004 .

Recognition as a European political party

The APF applied for party funding from the European Parliament for 2015 . These were rejected because of formal errors. Among other things, it was unclear in the application whether the APF existed as a legal person and whether the parliamentarians who had supported the application belonged to the APF.

With effect from January 1, 2016, the APF was recognized by the European Parliament and party funding was awarded.

In May 2016, following complaints from several MPs, the European Parliament initiated an investigation into whether the APF meets the requirements for party funding of a European party, in particular whether the APF recognizes the principles on which the European Union is based; in particular freedom, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and the rule of law. Finally, the disbursement of EU funding was frozen in 2017.

In autumn 2017, the APF missed registration with the newly established authority for European political parties and European political foundations . The application for funding for 2018 was accordingly rejected. The APF submitted the application for registration in September 2017 and was added to the register of parties in February 2018. At the end of 2018, the APF was removed from the register. The background was a change in the registration rules, according to which member parties (with parliamentarians) from seven EU member states had to belong to one European party. Previously, individual parliamentarians who did not belong to the APF, but from other European parties, had signed for the APF.

Europa Terra Nostra

The Europa Terra Nostra eV (ETN) association, founded in July 2015, is a party-affiliated foundation that also receives funding from the European Parliament. ETN initially had its seat in the party headquarters of the NPD in Berlin district of Treptow-Koepenick . The head office is now in Brussels .

ETN appeared at the Frankfurt Book Fair  2017. There were various protests against the ETN event, including the PEN Center Germany calling for the event to be canceled.

The number of members of the association is limited to a maximum of 15 by the statutes. Like the party, the foundation missed registration with the authority for European political parties and European political foundations in autumn 2017 ; their application for funding for 2018 was accordingly rejected.

On April 24, 2018, the ETN was registered with the authority. It was removed from the register in autumn 2018.

The APF maintains contacts with conservative circles in Russia and supports Vladimir Putin's policies , especially in the Ukraine war . It maintains friendly relations with the Syrian ruling Baath party . Contacts exist with the former chairman of the French Front National Jean-Marie Le Pen .

While Chrysi Avgi was a member , contacts with the Cypriot Ethniko Laiko Metopo (ELAM) existed.
