The Coalition for Life and Family (English, CLF) or Coalition pour la Vie et la Famille (French, CVF, German Coalition for Life and Family ) was a European political party that was particularly against abortion and for “traditional Family values ”, for example against homosexuality . For 2017, the party applied for recognition by the European Parliament and the associated party funding by the European Parliament. This was awarded to her for 2017. According to the changed rules for European political party funding, the CVF could not apply for funding for 2018 because it did not have a member of the European Parliament.
The CVF was supported in particular by the French organization Civitas , which has been a party since April 2016. Civitas is rated as Catholic-conservative, nationalist and right-wing extremist . It is the Society of St. Pius X. close. The president of the CLF was Alain Escada , who was born in Belgium and who was also the chairman of the Civitas. Civitas member François-Xavier Peron was co-founder.
aims
The party advocated - from their point of view - traditional Christian family values. This includes, for example, marriage exclusively as a connection between man and woman. She opposed abortion and euthanasia in any form. She fought against the “ LGBT lobby” and rejected gender theories.
Members
CVF had no members in the European Parliament, but members in the national and regional parliaments of Austria, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and Slovakia. These included MPs from right-wing extremist parties such as the Greek Golden Dawn and the Slovak People's Party Our Slovakia . Also a member was the Frenchman Olivier Wyssa , who was also a member of the far-right European party Alliance for Peace and Freedom . The CVF had further members in Germany, Hungary, Portugal and Romania.
