European National Front

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European National Front (ENF; Engl. : European National Front ) was a federation of several nationalist , right-wing parties and organizations in Europe, on the grounds of 2004. The plan was to form a European election platform for the European elections and to found a European right-wing party. According to its homepage, the ENF refers to Corneliu Zelea Codreanu and José Antonio Primo de Rivera as ideological role models .

The ENF is no longer active. In early 2015, the main member parties founded a European political party called the Alliance for Peace and Freedom .

structure

The ENF was led by a Secretary General. This was the Italian Roberto Fiore (Forza Nuova), who was sentenced to ten years in prison in 1985 for involvement in the 1980 Bologna bombing .

history

The first ENF meeting took place in Poland on October 23 and 24, 2004, and the NPD has not yet participated.

The establishment of the ENF was preceded by various bilateral alliances between nationalist parties and organizations, or they are being strengthened. For example, on November 20, 2004, the 29th anniversary of Francisco Franco's death , the then NPD chairman Udo Voigt signed a “cooperation agreement” with the chairman of the Falange, José Fernando Cantalapiedra , at the “historical desk” of Falange founder José Antonio Primo de Rivera . The agreement, which according to the NPD represents an “important milestone in German-Spanish relations”, “sends out a signal to other European nationalists to join the Madrid – Berlin axis”. The aim was to create a nationalist election platform for the European elections, combined with a call to other fascist and nationalist parties in Europe to join this alliance. In Spain, the “National European Front” appeared in public for the first time on February 18, 2005 in the form of a demonstration under the motto “No to the EU Constitution” with around 300 to 500 participants in Madrid . Representatives of the NPD (Udo Voigt), Noua Dreaptă, Fuorza Nuova and Chrysi Avgi also took part.

Form of cooperation

Actions and meetings between different organizations are often held to network and coordinate with one another. For example, several delegates from various European countries appeared as speakers at the right-wing rock festival Fest der Völker on June 11, 2005 in Jena. Party events or rallies are very often attended by delegations from other organizations.

Policy statement

In a policy statement, the ENF opposed “a Europe of globalization fanatics, profiteers and destructive separatism”. “For the protection of the sovereignty, dignity and independence of Europe and each of its individual nations”, a “Europe of the Fatherlands” should be opposed to this. Specifically, they agitated against an alleged “cultural globalization, massive illegal immigration and membership of Israel and Turkey in the European Union” in order to be able to guarantee “the protection of our culture, our traditions and our Christian roots”. “For the protection of life and the traditional family” they opposed abortion , homosexual marriage and the adoption of children by homosexual couples. In “contrast to the globalist-capitalist or Marxist economic systems” they pleaded “for the construction of an economic system based on social justice”, with further statements undoubtedly being a “national socialism”. The aim was to “build a new world order against US imperialism”. The declaration ends with the appeal: "Join the national organizations of Europe and fight for an independent, worthy, Christian, national and revolutionary Europe!"
