Ingrid Ohlenschläger (born July 27, 1926 in Naliboki , Poland , † April 21, 1999 in Berlin ) was a German actress , cabaret artist , singer and radio play speaker .

life and work

After she graduated from the drama school of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, she made her debut on a stage in Weimar in 1946. Further stations were Eisenach, the Stralsund Theater , Halle and from 1954 the East Berlin cabaret " Die Distel ", where she worked as a member of the ensemble until 1965, sometimes also as a singer. In addition to working on cabaret, Ohlenschläger also worked as an actress for DEFA and GDR television , for example in some satirical " Das Stacheltier " productions or the film comedy Who Loves His Wife ... from 1955.

This was followed by other film assignments in mostly smaller roles, such as Indian Summer (1962), before she was offered the lead role in János Veiczi's DEFA film For Eyes Only in 1962 . Ohlenschläger was awarded the GDR National Prize for her acting achievements .

In 1968 "the Ohle", as she was called by her colleagues and friends, fled from the GDR to the Federal Republic .
