Insel is a song by the German band Juli from 2014. It was released as a download in September 2014 and served as the pre-single for the eponymous album Insel .

Emergence

It took the band a long time to get a final version of this song. According to bassist Andreas “Dedi” Herde, the title was “the first song on the album - and the last” .

The album Insel was released on October 3, 2014. Previously, the title song of the same name was released on September 12, 2014 as the first download single. The band performed with the song on the Krömer - Late Night Show on October 9, 2014.

Südbalkon Remix

On June 3, 2016 Universal Music released the album Südbalkon with twelve tracks as remixes in the deep house style; In addition to pieces by Luxuslärm or Adel Tawil , Insel is also included as a south balcony remix .

Music videos

While working on the album, the band members went on a houseboat trip together on the Mecklenburg Lake District in summer 2013 . In addition to shared music, the artwork photos in the album and the majority originated on this journey of recordings for official island - Music Video . Further recordings show singer Eva Briegel in the city and at an airport.

An official acoustic video for Insel was also posted on YouTube . It shows Eva Briegel (on the ukulele ), Simon Triebel (on the guitar) and Jonas Pfetzing (on the omnichord ) making music on the houseboat.

In 2016 a music video was released for the Südbalkon Remix . It mainly consists of close-up shots of a young woman on a balcony, among other things looking at the sunlight breaking through a crystal.

Charts and chart placements

In the German single charts, the title first rose to number 74 on September 26, 2014, which was also its highest chart position. In the following week it fell off the charts, but was able to place itself again in the charts of October 17th (number 77) and October 24th (number 92). In Austria and Switzerland the song did not reach the charts.
