Why is a song by the German band Juli . It appeared on their first album Es ist Juli in September 2004 and was released as a single in August 2005.
Emergence
Why was one of the first German-language pieces the band wrote after they decided to start over with German lyrics in 2001. In October 2002, a first demo recording was made of the song with producer Michael Gerlach in Horus Sound Studio by Frank Bornemann in Hannover . After the band had signed their record deal with Universal in August 2003 , they initially recorded Why on a test basis as one of two songs (besides Geile Zeit ) with producers Andreas Herbig and Franz Plasa in the H.OME studios in Hamburg . The single version of the title, however, was recorded with producer Olaf Opal in the Mohrmann studio in Bochum , where the majority of the album recordings were made.
