International kids tour Berlin

The International Kids-Tour Berlin is a cycling - stage race for student drivers of the U-13 and U-15 , the year in and around since 1993. Berlin is discharged.

The event is considered the most important junior cycle race in the world and is considered prestigious.

The route has been changed over the years. In 2015 the race lasted three days. On the first day there was an individual time trial in Lehnitz , on the second a team time trial in teams of four in Mehrow as well as a road race also in Mehrow and on the third day, traditionally the final, a race on the Kurfürstendamm in Berlin followed by an award ceremony. Participants from other European countries have also been taking part in the tour for years; in 2015, around 260 participants in 65 teams from 12 countries came from here. In addition to the individual victory, the driver with the best points (green jersey), the best team and the best girl (pink jersey) will be honored. In 2015, a girl secured overall success for the first time in the U13 class, Thalea Mäder ( RSC Turbine Erfurt ). Jens Voigt was a guest at the 2001 event .

The winners also include later national and professional cyclists, including the winner of Milan – Sanremo and Paris – Roubaix John Degenkolb as well as Silvio Herklotz , Lucas Liß , Ruben Zepuntke and Oscar Gatto .

From August 25 to 27, 2017, the 25th edition of the Kids Tour was an anniversary tour . In 2020, the racing event was canceled due to the corona pandemic .
